In Loving Memory of Nyong Fun Tai

 

Nyong Fun Tai, a resident of Freehold, a responsible soul who triumphed over adversity, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, at 91 years old.  He was born on November 4th, 1932 in Malacca, Malaysia during a period of wartime.  Nyong Fun Tai's life journey was a testament to courage, perseverance, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.

 

Nyong Fun Tai's early years were marked by challenges that shaped the core of his character. His family bravely escaped bandit threats in China, witnessed the tumultuous era of World War II, endured famine, navigated the complexities of living under communist rule, and finally fled to Hong Kong in the 50s and became a successful factory owner.  Then in 1982, driven by the desire for a brighter future for his family, Nyong Fun Tai made the courageous decision to immigrate to New Jersey.

 

In his new home, Nyong Fun Tai started a Chinese restaurant, Hong Kong Garden where he worked tirelessly as a chef to provide opportunities for his loved ones. He was a devoted husband to Paochu Tai and a loving father to Alan Tai, Wai Ching Tai, son-in-law, Jeffery Tom, and Wai Ling Tai and son-in-law, Tzu Chiang Lo. Nyong Fun Tai's dedication extended to his grandchildren, Alexander Tai, Nicole Tom, Liam Tom, Tzu Chi Lo, and Yun Tse Lo, who were the source of immense pride and joy.

 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. A memorial service will celebrate the life of Nyong Fun Tai, highlighting his resilience, sacrifices, and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

 

Nyong Fun Tai's memory will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his indomitable spirit, unwavering love, and the profound impact he made on the lives of his family and friends.
